Tonight Ian and I trekked down to Palo Alto to attend an alumni event for Ragazzi, the Boys Chorus he belonged to as a child. He had a great experience singing with the group, singing not only all over the Bay area, but also traveling as far as Europe to sing. He has a lot of fond memories from the experience, so he was pretty pumped to go to the alumni event. Not long after we arrived, and I quickly made friends with the only other of the “wives” there, the guys joined together in the living room for an impromptu concert. It was a great mix of classics and Christmas music and I was incredibly impressed by how professional and wonderful they sounded without a lick of practice. Some of these guys perform professionally, and they all had a lot to work with, but it was still amazing to hear them as a group after they haven’t performed together in so long.
Since it is Ragazzi’s 25 year anniversary next year, Ian and I happily donated $25 to the organization and look forward to being more involved in their alumni outreach going forward.
I hope everyone is nearly finished their Christmas shopping – it’s already the last weekend before Christmas! What’s left on your list?
